Jointing Method & Procedure

Butt Fusion

The most widely used method for joining individual lengths of PE pipe and pipe to PE fittings is by heat fusion of the pipe butt ends (butt fusion). This technique produces a permanent, economical and flow-efficient connection

Procedure

It is a very simple process utilizing a properly sized butt fusion machine for the pipe size to be joined. The pipe is installed and clamped in the butt fusion machine with pipe supports on both ends of the machine to support the pipes on the machine center line. The pipe ends are then faced (machined) to mechanical stops to ensure clean, parallel pipe ends for the heating process. A temperature-controlled heater is installed in the machine and the pipe ends are heated according to the butt fusion standard.

Electro Fusion

An alternative form of welding polyethylene (poly or PE) is the Electrofusion fitting system where heating elements are embedded in PE fitting sockets.

Procedure

These sockets form part of a coupling or other fitting and require an electrical inputfrom a welding machine to produce a welded joint. The wide range selection of high-quality joining systems (Electrofusion and spigot fittings), machines, tools and accessories is representative of an informed and solution approach to our customers’ needs for high pressure systems.

An Electrofusion fitting is composed of a polyethylene body in which wire coils and terminals are embedded at manufacturing stage. When charged through the terminals with the Electrofusion control unit, the coil is heated which is then transferred to the fitting and pipe. Heat and the resulting pressure cause the surface to melt and bond at molecular level. If the correct procedure is followed, there is no separation between fitting and pipe at the point of fusion.

Flange Joint Procedure

To save installation time & cost our company also provides flange end pipes pre-fabricated at its manufacturing facilities. The pipes support 90° turns, branching lines and house connections efficiently. Also, the repair of damaged pipes is convenient and quick. Our service team provides on shore and off shore services.
